Maine’s 195th Army Band performs in Fort Kent
FORT KENT, Maine — Despite pouring rain that intercepted a week of otherwise sunny weather on Thursday evening, dozens of area residents showed up to an outdoor concert at the Lions Pavilion in Fort Kent to enjoy the musical talents of Maine’s 195th Army Band.
The band is composed of men and women who serve in the Maine National Guard and who are proficient at singing, conducting and playing a variety of brass instruments, wind instruments, and percussion instruments.
The defenders of our country/musicians performed such patriotic favorites as the “Star-Spangled Banner,” “God Bless the USA” and “Stars and Stripes Forever.” The concert also included classic favorites like “West Side Story” and “Autumn on White Lake.”
The traveling band of military heroes offers free performances to appreciative audiences throughout the state.
