Governor directs flags to half-staff for Texas victims

AUGUSTA, Maine — In respect for the victims of the tragic school shooting in Texas on Friday, May 18, Governor Paul R. LePage has directed the United States flag and the State of Maine flag be flown at half-staff immediately until sunset on Tuesday, May 22.

“Ann and I are tremendously saddened by the shooting at the Santa Fe High School in Texas,” said Governor LePage. “We send our deepest condolences to the students, teachers and families who have been affected by this tragedy.”

President Donald J. Trump issued a proclamation, also on Friday, directing flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims of the tragedy in Texas.
