Friends of St. Francis Talent Show to showcase northern Maine talent

ST. FRANCIS, Maine — The 2nd Annual Friends of St. Francis Talent Show fundraiser is returning to the town this weekend. The Friends of St. Francis organization is hosting the event, which Claudette Michaud coordinated.

As of Thursday, 28 acts, including singers and a comedian, had signed up to perform in the event, which raised more than $1,750 for the community group last year.

This year’s acts hail from St Francis, Daigle, Fort Kent, Eagle Lake, Caribou, and Fort Fairfield.

Friends of St. Francis will sell hot dogs, chili dogs, chili, popcorn, sweets and soda at the shows.

There also will be a 50/50 raffle set up at the talent show on both days. The winner of the 50/50 raffle need not be present to accept the cash prize.

Friends of St. Francis president Cindy Jandreau said the group decided to return the talent show this year “because of the overwhelming attendance and people asking us to do it again.”

There will be no winners or prizes for the performers, as the event is meant to showcase local talent.

The 2nd Annual Friends of St. Francis talent show will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 28-29, at the St. Francis Community Center. The show starts at 1 p.m. each day and the price of admission is $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under.
