Joan J. (Daigle) Ouellette (1933—2018)

FORT KENT, Maine — Joan J. (Daigle) Ouellette, 84, passed away on April 9, 2018, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born in Fort Kent on July 16, 1933, the daughter of the late Jean-Baptiste and Laura (Oakes) Daigle.

Joan was known for her infectious smile, as well as her love for puzzles, and making crafts. Joan is survived by her four daughters, Linda Bailey and her husband, Milton, of CT, Rinette Ouellette of RI, Priscilla Luchetti and her husband, Charles, of MA, and Donna Ouellette and her fiancé, Dan, of ME; two grandsons, Nicholas and Daniel; two sisters, Priscilla Pelletier and Claudette Oakes and her husband, Jack; one brother, Joel Daigle and his wife, Eleanor; and many nieces and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Lawrence Ouellette; three brothers, Albert Daigle, Richard Daigle, and Jean-Baptiste Daigle Jr.; one sister, Anita Belanger.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at the St. Louis Church in Fort Kent. Family and friends called from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home and from 10-10:45 a.m. at Lajoie-Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent, the morning before the service.
