Jacalyn A. Power (1951—2018)

VAN BUREN, Maine — Jacalyn A. Power, 66, of Van Buren, passed away on March 15, 2018, at Cary Medical Center surrounded by her family. Jackie was born in Van Buren on April 2, 1951, to Clarence “Cappy” Cyr and Joan (Smith) Cyr. Jackie worked for more than ten years as a cook for Van Buren School District. In her free time Jackie enjoyed knitting, crochet, reading, and spending time with family. She was a devout catholic. Many members of her family and friends will remember her for her sense of humor and her love of laughter.

Jackie is survived by her son, Christopher Power and his fiancée, Bobbie Adams, of Bridgewater, Maine; and her son, Thomas Power and his wife, Erica Power, of Tacoma, Washington. Jackie also adored her grandchildren, Ezekiel “Zeke”, Ryan, and Abbey. Jackie is also survived by her mother, Joan Cyr of Van Buren, and her brothers, Stephen Cyr of Van Buren, David Cyr of Van Buren, Don Cyr of Edmundston, New Brunswick, and Patrick Cyr of Greenville, Maine, and her sister, Elaine Cyr of Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Jackie was predeceased by her father.

Funeral Mass will take place on April 14, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bruno’s Church on Maine Street in Van Buren. Family will be there to greet people at 9:30 a.m. A private burial ceremony will take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff at Borderview Nursing Home for excellent care and making Jackie feel at home.
