CROSS LAKE, Maine — An icy stretch of road on Route 161 appears to have caused a single vehicle rollover accident in Cross Lake on Saturday, March 17, according to a report issued by Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Shawn D. Gillen.

Wyatt Condon, 21, of Ashland was traveling northbound on Route 161 at around 3 p.m. when he lost control of his 2010 Ford Edge, Gillen reported. Condon’s vehicle struck a snowbank and rolled over onto the roof.

Deputy Jesse Belanger responded to the scene and determined that icy road conditions contributed to the accident.

Ambulance Service Inc. transported Condon, who was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent for treatment of minor injuries, according to the press release.

Condon’s vehicle received extensive damage and was towed from the accident site.

Members of the North Lakes Fire Department assisted at the scene.
