Edward J. Collin (1948—2018)

WAYNE, Maine — Edward J. Collin, 69, of Wayne, passed away on March 2, 2018, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 30, 1948, in Madawaska, the son of Edmund and Leona (Soucy) Collin.

Ed proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Christine Collin; sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew and Dierdre Collin, and Andrew and Karen Collin; grandchildren, Rebecca, Trent, Carter, Savannah and Wyatt Collin. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard, James, and Emile, and his sisters, Patricia, Cecile, Theresa, and Fern. He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Maryann, and brother, Bill.

Ed was an incredibly strong man whose strength matched his big heart. His never-failing love for his family kept him fighting for two and a half years. Ed never let his diagnosis get him down, and he maintained his positive attitude to the end. Ed spent the last few years doing all the things he loved with the people he loved most. He had many passions, including fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. He was known for being a support and rock to those he held dear. Ed will be forever remembered in our hearts and memories.
