ROCKPORT, Maine — Terry Hayes, Maine’s first independent State Treasurer and independent, Clean Elections candidate for Governor, is honored today to announce the support of Representative Owen Casas. Casas is an independent and represents House District 94 which includes Camden, Islesboro and Rockport.
In making the announcement Representative Casas said, “I join with a growing number of political and business leaders who feel Terry is a consensus builder and brings a civility to politics that is sorely lacking. Her no-nonsense approach is desperately needed in Augusta.”
Treasurer Hayes and Rep. Casas will campaign together on Tuesday, February 6, with stops in Camden, Rockport, Rockland, and Thomaston.
Casas added, “I sit on the Veterans and Legal Affairs Committee and the issues in front of us are substantial. Terry has always supported citizens having a strong voice in their government and is running as a Clean Elections candidate. In her choice to run using the Clean Elections program she has said “No” to big money from special interests. She brings a no-nonsense approach to government and the people come first. I invite my constituents to help elect her as Maine’s next Governor.”
Hayes said, “I am honored by the support from Representative Casas. He works hard for his constituents and is willing to stand up for what he believes in, even against the political machines.”
