Eglantine “Aggie” Albert (1925—2018)

BRENTWOOD, New Hampshire and MADAWASKA, Maine — Eglantine “Aggie” Albert, 92, of Brentwood, NH, former long time resident of Madawaska, passed away on January 15, 2018, at the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She was born in Rivière-Verte, NB, Canada on September 15, 1925, daughter of the late Thomas Bérubé and Alice (Therrien) Bérubé.

Eglantine grew up in Rivière-Verte, NB and attended the local schools. As a young woman, she moved to Madawaska, where she met and married her husband, Leo Paul Albert. From then on her attention centered on her family and the activities of raising four children. She was a phenomenal cook, known for exceptional pot roast, chicken stew and pies. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, playing cards and spending time with her family. Eglantine was a very generous person, always ready and willing to lend a helping hand without expectation of anything in return.

A devout communicant of the Catholic faith, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella in Madawaska. She had lived in the Exeter and Brentwood area for the last fourteen years.

Eglantine was predeceased by her beloved husband in 1986; her beautiful daughter, Louise Albert Chowdry; and numerous siblings. She is survived by her children, Paul Albert and his wife, Luisa of Saratoga Springs, NY, David Albert and his wife, Laurie of Enfield, NH, Anne Moran and her husband, Terence of Exeter, NH; son-in-law, Frank Chowdry of Yarmouth; eight grandchildren, Scott Albert and his wife, Emily, Kevin Albert and his wife, Cara, Matthew Albert and his wife, Tara, Catherine Albert, Greta Moran, Hannah Moran, Olivia Moran and Philip Chowdry. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Claire, Julia, Evelyn, Tessa, Quinn, Margaret and Oliver; her brother, Paul Berube of Rivière-Verte, NB, Canada; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on February 17, 2018, at 10:00 am, at St. Joseph’s Church, 200 Pleasant St., Epping, NH. Burial will be in St. David Cemetery in St. David, ME at a later date. Brewitt Funeral Home, 14 Pine St., in Exeter, NH, is handling the arrangements.
