Chamberland earns prestigious trucking safety award, again
ST. AGATHA, Maine — The Maine Motor Transport Association awarded St. Agatha-based R.F. Chamberland Inc. its Grand Champion safety award, at the organization’s annual banquet on Jan. 9 in Portland.
“RF Chamberland Inc. once again competed against some of the largest motor carriers in the industry, with almost seven million safe miles driven,” Chamberland’s Director of Risk Management Christopher Cyr said.
It was the second consecutive year the family trucking business earned the prestigious award.
In a unanimous decision, the review board of law enforcement, insurance executives and trucking industry leaders awarded the Grand Champion prize for the safest motor carrier in Maine to the family business, now entering its 41st year transporting goods across the country.
Also recognized at the Portland banquet was veteran Chamberland driver Jean Paul Chamberland, who was named the MMTA July 2017 Driver of the Month.
Chamberland co-owner Mark Chamberland and Cyr accepted the award at the banquet.
Chamberland recognized every employee as a key player in the company’s safety record and thanked everyone for their hard work and dedication.
Brothers Mark and Dale continue the work of company founders, Bob and Vi Chamberland.
