Cecile Ouellette (1926—2018)

MONCTON, New Brunswick — Cecile Ouellette, 91, died peacefully at the Moncton Hospital in Moncton, NB, Canada, on Jan. 16, 2018. She was born on March 4, 1926, daughter of the late Joseph Ouellette and Marie Ouellette.

Cecile is survived by her sister, Bertha Roux, of Lowell, MA, a sister-in-law, Odette Ouellette of Frenchville, ME, and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Antonio, Wilfred (Gilberte) of Fort Kent, Euclid (Lorette) of Van Buren, Jean Paul of Frenchville, and Therese and Lucille (Tony) Donato of Sierra Vista, AZ.

She was also predeceased by a special nephew, Fr. Richard Ouellette of Frenchville, and Joseph Deschaine, beloved husband to her niece, Monique of Dedham, ME, and John Levesque, beloved husband of her niece, Lisa of Madawaska.

After High School, Cecile joined the religious order of the Daughters of Wisdom and served for 25 years.

She dedicated 35 years of her life to the teaching profession, 30 of which were spent in the Edmunston Area and five at Riverview Jr. High in Riverview, NB.

She retired in Riverview where she had many friends that were like her second family. Her final years were spent at Royal Court where she was happy, loved and brought joy to those around her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her friend, Stella d’Entremont, for making sure Cecile’s needs were met.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Alex on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Luce Church in Frenchville. Burial to follow in the Spring in the St. Luce Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
