Addis J. Ruest (1931—2018)

VAN BUREN, Maine — Addis J. Ruest, 86, died on Thursday, January 18, 2018, at a Van Buren healthcare facility. He was born on October 5, 1931, in Van Buren, a son of the late Paul and Annie (Lebel) Ruest.

Addis liked to tinker with various electronics, especially CB radios. He also enjoyed attending local BINGO games at the Knights of Columbus or Borderview Rehab and Living Center.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carlene (Madore) Ruest of Van Buren; five children, Nancy Pelletier and her husband, Lucien, of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, David Ruest of Van Buren, Judy Silva and her husband, Herbert, Senior Master Sgt USAF (Ret.), of Midlothian, VA, Barbara Byram and her husband, Lawrence, of St. Leonard, NB, Canada, and Lisa Ruest and her companion, Daniel Couturier, of Madawaska; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Addis was predeceased by an infant daughter, Wanda, and eight siblings.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church, Van Buren. There will be no visiting hours.
