Warrior girls hold on for win against visiting Panthers

FORT KENT, Maine — Libby Lapointe scored a game-high 17 points, including two three-pointers, on Tuesday to lead Fort Kent to a 43-41 victory over visiting Central Aroostook. It was the Warriors’ seventh win in nine games.

“It was a battle till the final seconds,” said assistant coach Marissa Albert. “Libby Lapointe hit two crucial foul shots to put us up by two and our defense held strong as the game came to an end. I’m proud that our team was able to battle through their struggles and come out on top.”

Mikayla Pelletier had eight points for the winners. Desirae Hafford had seven and Jordan O’Leary scored six points to help Fort Kent.

Breann Bradbury’s 14 points, Kassidy Levesque’s 12 and Katelyn Levesque’s eight points paced 6-3 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.

The Warrior’s only two losses this season have come against Caribou. Fort Kent next travels to Fort Fairfield on Thursday, then to Woodland High School in Baileyville on Monday.
