DANBURY, Conn. — Gilbert Dumond, 75, of Danbury, CT, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at Danbury Hospital.
Originally from Madawaska, ME, he was the son of the late Alcime and Leda Lagasse Dumond.
Gilbert was predeceased by his siblings, Lawrence, Gilman, Emilio, Edwina Dufour, Lena Herbert, and Alphena Chasse.
He leaves behind his surviving siblings, Roland Dumond of Hartford, CT; Reno Dumond and his wife, Rolande, of Bristol, CT; Norman Dumond and his wife, Therese, of Florida; and Nancy Dumond-Barube and her husband, Don, of Bristol, CT.
He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as many friends, both young and old, who all enjoyed being around him whenever possible, especially Allen and Arnold Dufour, his nephews and annual fishing partners.
Gil also leaves behind the “love of his life”, Ora LaMadeleine, with whom he had spent over 40 years.
Other family members include Michael Desmone, Derek Desmone, Matthew Cyr, Stefanie Dinneen, Michael Desmone, Jr. Also his two great-granddaughters, Alexa Dube and Emmie Nicole Dinneen, who Gil got to meet and hold before leaving us into eternal rest. He will live in our hearts forever and will be missed dearly.
At Gils’s request, there will be no services. A Memorial to celebrate his life will be in Madawaska, ME, at a date and time to be announced.
