RCMP arrest man after seizure of pills
ST. LEONARD, New Brunswick — RCMP officers arrested a man Tuesday, Jan. 2, following a significant seizure of what they believed were methamphetamine pills near Saint-Léonard.
According to Ssgt. Ross Gorman of the West District RCMP, the Saint-Léonard Detachment stopped an eastbound vehicle on the Trans-Canada Highway near Saint-Léonard. Their search of the vehicle led to the discovery of approximately 28,000 pills, which the officers believed to be methamphetamine. They arrested the driver of the vehicle at the scene.
The suspect, an unidentified 47-year-old man from Moncton, was released on conditions pending a future court appearance.
The investigation is continuing.
