School committee expands search for IT staff
MADAWASKA, Maine — Madawaska school committee members have opted to repost a vacancy in the school’s Information Technology department, expanding it from a 20-hour to a 30- or 40-hour position, according to Superintendent Gisele Dionne.
At their Dec. 18 committee meeting, members heeded the recommendations of a search committee to reopen the search, in hopes of expanding the pool of qualified applicants.
“The school committee recognizes the need for additional staffing in the IT department,” Dionne said in an email on Wednesday.
Dionne expects the school committee to make a decision on the new computer technician position at their January meeting.
In other school business, the committee designated Paul Chasse as the school department’s Director of Safety and Director of School Facilities.
Chasse is a computer technician at the school department. He is also a reserve officer with the Madawaska Police Department and serves on Madawaska’s volunteer fire department.
