Fundraising dinner Jan. 28 will benefit Fort Kent high school ski teams

FORT KENT, Maine — The Green Bean Ski Club will hold its annual fundraising spaghetti feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 28, at Fort Kent Community High School.

Athletes and parents join to make this a profitable fundraiser for the high school’s cross country and alpine ski teams. Money raised from the event is used to pay for items such as grooming fees, locker room rental fees, wax, gates, uniforms, lift tickets at non-local venues and state meet expenses.

Last year the event raised about $4,000, according to organizers. This year there are even more skiers on the teams and there is a need for additional uniforms and warm up jackets.

The club also is soliciting spaghetti feed sponsorships from local businesses, which will be recognized on a sponsor banner at the meal.

Tickets may be bought from any of the skiers or may be purchased at the door. Once again, there will be a take-out option.

Tickets are $8 per person, and all proceeds go directly to the Fort Kent High School Nordic and Alpine ski teams.
