Three games in three days for the Blizzard

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick – The Edmundston Blizzard players will be quite busy in the next 24 days with 10 games on the menu.

And the work starts this weekend with games on three consecutive days for Ryan Salvis’ squad. On Friday, November 24, the Blizzard hosts the Amherst Ramblers (7:30 pm). On Saturday, Edmundston is in Campbellton to face the Tigers (7:30 pm). The two teams will face each other again the next day, Sunday, at the Jean-Daigle Centre in Edmundston starting at 3 pm.

It will not be an easy weekend for the Blizzard (14-3-2-0 = 30 points) who will face tough opponents. The Ramblers have only suffered four regulation losses, one less than the Blizzard. Amherst sits 3rd in the EastLink South Division with a record of 9-4-3-3 = 24 points.

And the Tigers (9-8-2-0 = 20 points) are on a roll with seven straight victories that propelled them to third place of EastLink North, one point fewer than the Miramichi Timberwolves (9-7-2-1 = 21 points).

Great crowds are again expected for the weekend games at the Jean-Daigle Centre. As of Thursday night, more than 2,000 tickets were sold for Friday’s game against Amherst.

On Friday, the Blizzard will have to keep a close eye on Jordan King (11g, 19a = 30pts) and former Dieppe Commando Liam Conrad (12g, 10a = 22pts)… The Blizzard is the only MHL team to count four players with 20 points or more: Kyle Ward (15g, 10a = 25pts), Logan Johnston (7g, 18a = 25pts), Alexandre Jacob (6g, 17a = 23pts) and Liam Leonard (11g, 10a = 21pts)… The top scorer for the Tigers is Pierre-Luc Lurette (7g, 8a = 15pts).
