Local insurance agency moves to new site

FORT KENT, Maine — The Nikki Shields Agency has moved from Pleasant Street to Main Street as of Monday, Nov. 13.

The Nikki Shields Agency made its official debut as a local provider of insurance coverage at a Greater Fort Kent Area Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting ceremony in May.

“The community has welcomed me with open arms and my business has been growing ever since opening a year ago in Fort Kent,” Shields said. “I decided to move the office to a more visible location on Main Street with a larger space offering more privacy and a more comfortable environment for our clients.”

Formerly located on Pleasant Street next to Fort Kent Community High School, the agency is now located next to the St. Louis Catholic Church at 34 East Main Street in the building which previously housed the Lunch Box restaurant.

Shields is originally from Presque Isle, but moved to Fort Kent to open the multi-line insurance agency last spring.

Shields employs Danielle Levesque of Fort Kent as a customer service representative.

The business is open  8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday.

More information is available by calling 207-834-1180 or sending an email to nikki.shields@farm-family.com. The agency also has a Facebook page.
