‘Iron Tamer’ Dave Whitley to visit the Valley

FORT KENT, Maine — If you have ever wanted to learn how to crush a coconut or bend metal with your bare hands, or if you would just like to see it done live, now is your chance.

‘Iron Tamer’ Dave Whitley will visit Fort Kent for appearances at Fort Kent Community High School and Too Far North Fitness in early December.

Whitley, a motivational speaker and strongman, based out of Nashville, Tennessee, will visit the Valley to demonstrate his feats of strength, and share his motivational message about how others can accomplish the same.

“I am convinced that every single one of us on planet Earth has the ability to become super human, that each of us has at least one unique super power that can have a tremendous positive impact our own lives and the lives of those around us,” Whitley says on his official website. “This power can be used to help us live a success-filled and happy life or it can can cause us to live in complacency, doubt and fear. My goal is to help you discover and develop the unique super power that exists in you and that you will use it to make the world around you a better place.”

Too Far North Fitness of Fort Kent is hosting the strongman’s appearances.

“Dave is one of the main reasons why we do what we do. He’s well respected world-wide as a strength coach and one of the most gifted educators and coaches we have ever met,” said Rick Daigle, co-owner of Too Far North Fitness. “Students will benefit as he will be talking about breaking down limits and working on believing in yourself, not what limits other people put on you.”

On Dec. 8, Whitley will perform for students at the Fort Kent Community High School.

He also will appear at Too Far North Fitness on Dec. 10, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. That event will be limited to 30 people, during which Whitley will conduct a work conduct a
