Carilyn Yvonne Daigle Gagnon (1949-2017)

FRENCHVILLE, Maine — Carilyn Yvonne Daigle Gagnon, 68, of Frenchville, Maine, passed away peacefully at a Fort Kent health care facility on October 16, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Carilyn was born on April 20, 1949 in Eagle Lake to Ferdinand Daigle Sr. and Jeannette Cyr Daigle of Frenchville. She was the fourth of six children.

Carilyn was an educated woman who earned several degrees while attending the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She shared her knowledge and love of books by teaching at Head Start in Frenchville, then becoming a teacher at the Acadia School in Madawaska and later became the Head Librarian for the Madawaska Public Library. Carilyn also had many musical talents and could play the Ukulele and the Guitar but what she loved most was singing. Carilyn had many struggles during her life, however, those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her, felt the love and kindness she shared.

Carilyn is survived by her only child, whom she absolutely adored, Jason J. Gagnon and his wife Keela, of Madawaska; two grandchildren, Brandon and Evan Gagnon, also of Madawaska; three brothers, Ferdinand “Nooky” Daigle Jr. and his wife Nicole, of Madawaska; George Daigle and his wife, Jeanne, of St. Basile, NB, and Michael J. Daigle of Frenchville; two sisters, Marilyn Laferriere and Theresa Daigle Cyr, both of Madawaska. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at Michaud Funeral Home in Frenchville from 8:30 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luce Catholic Church.
