Community recreation department set to host family ‘pumpkin party’
PORTAGE LAKE, Maine — The Portage Lake Recreation Department is once again hosting an annual Pumpkin Party, Sunday, Oct. 22, at the town hall.
This year’s event will include concessions sold by the Ashland Combined School’s eighth grade class and the traditional viewing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
The town’s voting room will be transformed into a “spooky room,” complete with a pirate ship, vampire’s lair, cemetery and other surprises. The fire department bay will be used as a game and dance room. Prizes will be offered.
There is no charge to take part, and both children and adults are encouraged to attend in the spooky or funny costume of their choosing.
