Driver rolls vehicle at Route 11 construction site
TOWNSHIP 14 RANGE 6 — A Lewiston woman and her two passengers avoided serious injury Thursday afternoon when their hatchback left the road and rolled several times along a stretch of Route 11 south of Winterville.
Jamie Burnham, 22, lost control of her 2010 Dodge Caliber when she approached a construction zone at approximately 1:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Maine State Police.
Burnham, who was driving in the northbound lane, was was operating “at a high rate of speed,” police said.
Ambulance Service Inc. transported Burnham, who police indicated was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent for treatment of “minor injuries,” according to the release.
Shaughn Little, 23 and Olivia Burnham, 1, both also from Lewiston, who were passengers in the vehicle, were not hurt in the crash, police said.
