Edmundston police crack down on illegal off-road traffic

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — Over the past few months, the Edmundston Police Force has received a number of public complaints about off-road vehicles traveling illegally in the streets of Edmundston.

Some of these off-road vehicles are speeding and driving dangerously, said Inspector Alain Lang via a press release.

As a result of the complaints received, during the past few weeks, members of the patrol section of the Edmundston Police Force have carried out several operations to implement the Off-Road Vehicle Act.

More than 25 tickets were issued during these operations.

The Edmundston Police Force wants to remind drivers of off-road vehicles that it is strictly forbidden to drive such a vehicle within 7.5 meters of a road. Offenders may be fined $ 292.50 for breaking the law.
