Edmundston police identify pair arrested in drug trafficking case

Edmundston, New Brunswick, police have identified the two people arrested Tuesday following the search of a  residence on the Canada Road that turned up a significant amount of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana.

Dwayne Rideout, 30, and Mylene Ruest, 21, each was charged with possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana for the purpose of trafficking, according to Inspector Alain Lang of the Edmundston Police Force.

Both were released on unspecified conditions following their appearance before a provincial court judge in Edmundston on Wednesday afternoon, Lang said Thursday.

The two will be returning to court in Edmundston on Sept. 26, he said.

Officers with the patrol and street crime division of the Edmundston Police Force executed a search warrant at the home as part of an ongoing drug investigation, according to Lang.
