Golf Benefit Tournament FSLM exceeds $400,000 raised in 23 years

The St. Louis-Maillet Foundation is pleased to announce that its benefit golf tournament just surpassed $400,000 since its conception in 1995.

Saturday, September 9, at the Edmundston Fraser Golf Club, collected the sum of $25,000. One hundred golfers in 24 teams made an appearance at the 23rd benefit tournament.

New this year, the tournament was organized in collaboration with the Blizzard of Edmundston, the new Junior A Hockey League team of the Maritimes. Hockey players were on hand to liven the day as at each of the 18 tees, a Blizzard player was asked to hit a ball.

The quartet of Marc Nadeau, Daniel Martin, Doug Couture and Yvan Morin shot a -11 to win top honors.

Since the inception of the tournament in 1995, $405,800 has been collected and donated to the Foundation.

Many sponsors have contributed to the success of the tournament this weekend. The organizing committee thanks all of its donors, especially their top sponsor, Insurance Solutions 360º.

The organizing committee also announced the names of eight holes sponsors that donated to the scholarships for 2018-2019 academic year. These sponsors are: Pizza Le Patrimoine, Jessome’s Source for Sports, Dr. François Guinard ophthalmologist, Edmundston Toyota, Insurance Solutions 360º, Sinisco, Mr. Claude Voyer Kingdom and financial cooperation.

The Foundation wishes to thank the generous sponsors that make the benefit tournament success year after year.
