Bank contributes to Haunted Forest

EAGLE LAKE – NorState Federal Credit Union recently donated $500 to the Eagle Lake Fire Department for their annual fall Haunted Forest event.

Money raised from attendance at the event, which tends to number over the 400 mark, goes toward purchasing capital equipment for the fire department.

“Smaller fire departments have to get creative in raising monies to keep up with the cost of purchasing and maintenance of equipment,” stated Robert St. Germain, Eagle Lake firefighter and sponsorship coordinator.

“We do the Haunted Forest Fundraiser, makes a few years now, and this year we decided that getting our local businesses involved would help us in purchasing new props and paying for the other things needed to make this event as successful as in years past.

“We even have actors as far away as Bangor coming up just for this event, and those who walk the Haunted Forest are not disappointed, only spooked,” St. Germain said.

“NorState FCU is a proud community supporter of events such as these,” said Executive Marketing Director Denise Duperré.

“The fact that they are creative in putting on an event that attracts people to their venue to enjoy is testament to the dedication of a volunteer group who not only saves lives and property, but who genuinely care about their community, and wish to remain viable and up to date on equipment and safety,” she said.
