Wildcats stay unbeaten in win again against Warriors

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Fort Kent Warriors girls soccer team dropped to an even 2-2 record following a 3-1 loss Wednesday against the Presque Isle Wildcats (2-0).

Madison Michaud netted two first-half goals on the Wildcats’ home pitch, with Eleanor St. Peter adding the third goal for Presque Isle.

Clara Kohlbacher and Paige McHatten assisted on the goals and Savanah Rodriguez compiled nine saves on 10 shots.

The Wildcats were in second place, behind 3-0 Caribou, in the Class B North standings following the win against the Warriors.

Gabby Martin registered a second-half goal for Fort Kent, with Desirae Hafford getting the assist. Lyndsay Ouellette collected 15 saves on 18 shots.

The hot and cold Fort Kent offense was unable to muster much against Presque Isle. The Warriors scored 10 and seven goals in two previous games this season, but have been held to a single goal in two others.

The Warriors, who were ranked fourth in Class C North standings after the loss, next travel to local rival Madawaska to take on the Owls, Sept. 12.
