Fort Kent Circle K/Irving store begins pump upgrades

FORT KENT, Maine — Workers began an upgrade earlier this month of gas pumps and storage tanks at the Circle K / Irving store and gas station on West Main Street in Fort Kent.

Small excavators, seen here Aug. 2, have stripped off sections of pavement and the gas pumps have been removed. “We are always working to enhance the integrity and performance of our retail sites throughout our network,” said Candice MacLean, with Irving Oil’s Public Affairs & Communications office. “As part of this, we regularly perform upgrades on our equipment, which is currently the situation at our Fort Kent location.” MacLean said the work is expected to be completed at the end of September, when gasoline will once more be available. The store remains open during construction.
