Rotarians plan food court, shortcake sale

FORT KENT, Maine — The Fort Kent Rotary will set up a food court during the annual Fort Kent International Muskie Derby Aug. 11-13, located at the corner of S.W. Collins parking lot area.

The club has hosted the official food court for the derby for several years. Proceeds will benefit local high school scholarships. Tables and chairs will be set up under a tent.

The food court will be open on Friday, Aug. 11, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, Aug. 13, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Club members will sell grilled hot dogs, lobster rolls, strawberry shortcakes, beverages, and chips.

The annual strawberry shortcake sale has grown and become very successful from the continuous support of the community. This year, each shortcake will cost $4, which includes delivery to businesses on Friday, Aug. 11, only.  Rotarians presell, package and deliver the orders.
