Foundation plans 23rd golf tourney

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — The 23rd Saint-Louis-Maillet Foundation benefit golf tournament will be held at the Fraser Edmundston Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 9.

The annual classic will be held this summer in collaboration with the Blizzard of Edmundston, the new team Junior A hockey league of the Maritimes. Thus, several hockey players will be on hand to liven the day.

Sponsors of $500 holes and more will receive a Blizzard package worth over $100, which consists of five tickets of the winner’s choice during the 2017-2018 season and a cap with the colors of the team.

This friendly tournament is open to all those interested in the student cause at the University of Moncton, Edmundston Campus. Those interested are invited to form teams of four players as quickly as possible. The participation fee is $100 for both members and non-members, and includes brunch, the tournament and banquet. Prizes will be awarded.

The brunch will be held from 11 am to 12 pm 30 and the tee shot be given at 13 am. The banquet will follow the tournament. Admission to the banquet only is $20.

Last year, the benefit tournament raised $25,000. Since 1995, the activity has generated a profit of $380,800. Money raised is redistributed in the form of scholarships.
