Cathedral Friends to host organ recitals

EDMUNDSTON, New Brunswick — The Friends of the Organ of the Immaculate Conception Cathedral will present two recitals during the Foire Brayonne, one by Marie-Hélène Greffard on Wednesday, Aug. 2, and the other by Vincent Boucher on Thursday, Aug. 3.

Performances will start at 7 p.m. Canadian Time. These recitals are the 18th presentation organized by the Friends of the Organ, a committee that was established in 1995 to promote and maintain the cathedral’s organ.

Greffard is tenure holder of the organs at the parishes of St. Thomas and St. Mathew of Montmagny, which Boucher is tenure holder of the organ at the St. Joseph Oratory of Mount Royal.

The musical program will include pieces by Bach, Scarlatti, Tournemire, Franck and Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdi. To book a place for the presentation contact Melanie Martin at (506) 737-8950.
