SJV Weather for Wednesday, July 26-Tuesday, Aug. 1

High pressure brings mostly clear to partly cloudy skies to the Valley Wednesday. Clouds increase Wednesday evening ahead of an approaching cold front with mostly cloudy skies and a chance for rain by early Thursday. Overcast skies with a chance for rain and a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms are expected Thursday. Rain tapers to showers by early Friday with high pressure centered near the Great Lakes controlling the region’s weather through Monday. A cold front slides east from Québec Monday into Tuesday with partly cloudy skies Tuesday morning giving way to mostly cloudy skies and a chance for some showers Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday, July 26: High: near 80. Low: near 60.

Day: Mostly clear in the morning then partly cloudy in the afternoon and evening. Southwest winds 0-5 mph. Overnight: Increasing clouds after midnight with a 50 percent chance for showers with less than one-tenth inch expected. South winds around 5 mph.

Thursday, July 27: High: near 70. Low: mid-50s.

Day: Cloudy with a 60 percent chance for showers and a slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Rainfall totals between one-tenth and one-quarter inch expected. South winds 5-10 mph become southwesterly. Overnight: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance for showers with less than one-tenth inch anticipated. Southwest winds 5-10 mph become westerly.

Friday, July 28: High: low 70s. Low: low 50s.

Day: Mostly cloudy skies become partly sunny with a 10 percent chance for precipitation. Northwest winds 8-14 mph. Overnight: Partly cloudy with light north winds 0-7 mph.

Saturday, July 29: High: low 70s. Low: mid-50s.

Day: Partly cloudy and mild. Chance for precipitation 10 percent. Northwest winds 8-14 mph. Overnight: Partly cloudy with light northwest winds 0-7 mph. Chance for precipitation 10 percent.

Sunday, July 30: High: mid-70s. Low: mid-50s.

Day: Partly cloudy and warmer. Northwest winds 0-7mph. Overnight: Partly cloudy to mostly clear with southwest winds 0-7 mph.

Monday, July 31: High: near 80. Low: mid-50s.

Day: Mostly clear and warm. Light southwest winds 0-7mph. Overnight: Partly cloudy with southwest winds 0-7 mph.

Tuesday, August 1: High: upper 70s. Low: mid-50s.
