Police charge Fort Kent man with assault, terrorizing after incident at hospital

FORT KENT, Maine — Police arrested and issued multiple charges against a local man Friday after he was accused of assaulting a hospital employee and an officer at Northern Maine Medical Center.

Sam Daigle, 28, of Fort Kent was so combative that it took seven people to subdue him, according to Officer Michael DeLena of the Fort Kent Police Department.
A hospital employee requested police assistance when Daigle began destroying property at the hospital and also struck a hospital employee, DeLena reported.
Daigle also allegedly swung at the officer before he was subdued and arrested.
DeLena charged Daigle with assault to emergency medical personnel, terrorizing, criminal mischief, assault on an officer and violation of conditions of release.
Police transported Daigle to the Aroostook County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in court to answer to the charges on Monday, Sept. 1.
