Jeannine (LaFrance) Oakes

FORT KENT, Maine — Jeannine (LaFrance) Oakes, 74, died peacefully on June 27, 2017, at a Fort Kent Health Care Facility. She was born the fourth of six children in St. Francis to Euclid and Elizabeth (Michaud) LaFrance.

She was the wife, friend, and companion of Elray J. Oakes, and mother to a very special son, Jeffrey Oakes for 55 years, both of Fort Kent.

Also survived by two sisters: Carol Carrozza of Southington, CT, and Anna Romanillo and husband Frank of Torrington, CT, and her brother: Donald and wife Patricia LaFrance of Plantsville, CT, as well as one brother-in-law: Ralph Patterson.

In addition to her parents, Jeannine was predeceased by an infant daughter: Frena Marie Oakes, one son, Ronnie Oakes in 2015 and one  sister, Georgianne Patterson and one brother: Arnold (Giggy) LaFrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 5, 2017, at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will follow in the Oakes Family Cemetery, St. John. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Aroostook, 14 Access Highway, Caribou, ME 04736. Services are in the Care of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
