Van Buren selectmen hire Troeger as new town manager

VAN BUREN, Maine — Nancy Troeger officially accepted an offer Monday, May 15, to become Van Buren’s latest town manager. She is expecting to sign a contract within the week.

Troeger will replace Dan McClung, who came to Van Buren in July 2014.

Mcclung, whose last day at Van Buren was May 12, is now the town manager in Glenburn. Upon McClung’s departure, selectmen appointed Gary Levesque as interim town manager.

Selectmen voted on May 9 to offer the full time position to Troeger, who currently serves as director of the local public library.

Troeger has served as part-time interim town manager in the past. She said Friday it was not immediately clear who would take over her duties at the library.
