SJV Weather for Monday, May 8, to Sunday, May 14, 2017
Showery weather will dominate the week as a persistent upper-level low circulates over New England and eastern Canada. Low pressure will move through northern Maine early Monday then into Québec as the day progresses. Periods of rain are anticipated as a weak trough moves across the region. Rain tapers to showers which will continue Tuesday through Friday morning with decreasing chances for precipitation Friday afternoon as the upper-low finally moves further eastwards into the Maritimes. High pressure builds across the area Saturday into Sunday with partly cloudy skies developing across the Valley Saturday. Increased cloudiness occurs Sunday as a low intensifies off the Middle Atlantic coast and moves out to sea early next week.
