PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The 400 members of the Aroostook Shrine Club have been working hard planning for the 54th annual Anah Temple Shrine Circus, which is coming to The Forum in Presque Isle May 4, 5 and 6.

According to organizers, this year’s show features fabulous circus spectacles like high-flying acts, clowns, camels, elephants, cotton candy, sno-cones, novelties and much more. Those who have ever wanted to ride an elephant or a camel may have their chance.

Besides daredevil motorcycles, the show will feature the Chicago Boyz, a professional gymnastics troupe of talented young men and boys from the Chicagoland area. The performance includes acrobatic stunts, tricks inside twirling jump ropes, mini trampolines and tumbling routines.

They have performed on TV’s “America’s Got Talent” and as part of the halftime show for the Chicago Bulls. Jeff Wolschlaeger, who works in game operations for the Bulls, said, “They are definitely one of the best halftime acts that I bring in each year and probably the best in the NBA.”

Ringmaster Charlie VanBuskirk will start the shows as follows: Thursday, May 4, at 7 p.m.; Friday May 5, at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.; and Saturday, May 6, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tickets are on sale at Ray’s Corner Store, Northern Business Products, Dwight’s Barber shop, Clukey’s Auto Parts and the Forum box office.
