SJV Weather for Monday, April 17 to Sunday, April 23, 2017

An area of low pressure and an associated cold front will cross the Valley Monday with showers and snow showers across the region. High pressure begins building in Monday night with skies becoming partly cloudy Tuesday. Clouds increase early Wednesday as a low moves east across southern Canada with rain spreading across the Valley Wednesday night. Rain continues into Thursday morning with some snow showers possible as well. Showers persist Thursday afternoon and evening as another low pressure system advances east from the Midwest. Some morning snow is possible Friday with little/no accumulation expected. Mostly cloudy skies and showers continue Friday into Saturday as the system moves across and east of the region. High pressure centered near the Great Lakes brings partly sunny skies and warmer temperatures Sunday.

Daily Weather Summary

Monday, April 17: High: mid-30s. Low: mid-20s.

Cloudy with a 70 percent chance for showers and snow showers. Between one-tenth and one-quarter inch of precipitation with one inch or less of snow accumulation expected. Overnight, cloudy with a 20 percent chance for precipitation with decreasing clouds early Tuesday. North winds around 10 mph become northeasterly early Tuesday.

Tuesday, April 18: High: upper 30s. Low: mid-20s.

Decreasing clouds in the morning with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies in the afternoon and evening. Increasing clouds after midnight with a 10 percent chance for precipitation. Northeast winds near calm become southeasterly 5-10 mph overnight.

Wednesday, April 19: High: low 40s. Low: low 30s.

Becoming overcast with showers in the morning and steadier rain in the evening and overnight periods. Chance for precipitation is 60 percent increasing to 70 percent overnight.  South winds 10-15 mph.

Thursday, April 20: High: mid-40s. Low: low 30s.

Overcast with a 30 percent chance for showers and morning snow showers. Overnight, cloudy with a 30 percent chance for showers. Light northeast winds.

Friday, April 21: High:  mid-40s. Low:  low 30s.

Cloudy in the morning with showers and a period of snow possible. Becoming mostly cloudy in the afternoon with a chance for showers. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Overnight, mostly cloudy with a 20 percent chance for showers and snow showers.

Saturday, April 22: High: mid-40s. Low: low 30s.

Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance for showers and morning snow showers. North winds 8-14 mph.

Sunday, April 23: High: low 50s. Low: mid-30s.

Partly sunny with a 10 percent chance for precipitation. North winds 8-14 mph.
