Gendreau earns VB Principal’s Award

Dr. Timothy Kane, the principal/superintendent of Van Buren District Secondary School, has announced that Lindsey Gendreau received the 2017 Maine Principal’s Award. 

Gendreau is the daughter of Priscilla Dionne of Van Buren and Scott Gendreau of Colchester, Conn. She has one sibling, a sister, Leah Gendreau. She is presently a senior at Van Buren District Secondary School.

While in high school, she has had a rigorous workload. She has taken a full schedule of required classes, independent studies, as well as college classes.

“Lindsey has exceptional grades in all classes and strives for the very best in all things she does,” Kane said.

During her high school career, Gendreau has played a variety of sports to include soccer, basketball, tennis and volleyball. She was a team captain on her soccer team for two years, basketball team for one year, and tennis and volleyball teams for one year.  

Lindsey has been an active member is yearbook, project graduation, and National Honor Society. Lindsey is also a member of Student Senate, and she has done peer tutoring and volunteered at the ice rink.

Lindsey was awarded the Phi Beta Kappa award in 2016 and was awarded the CTE Student of the Year in 2016.
