Georgianne M. (Belanger) Dionne (1935—2017)

FORT KENT, Maine — Georgianne M. (Belanger) Dionne died at her home at Pleasant Heights Senior Housing in Fort Kent Sunday, March 12, 2017, at the age of 82. She was born in Baker Lake, New Brunswick, February 22, 1935, the daughter of Edmond and Rosalie (Nadeau) Banville.

She worked in several positions while living in Connecticut and Maine from the 1960s to the 1990s. Until her passing, she enjoyed senior citizen outings in northern Maine and neighboring New Brunswick. She especially enjoyed weekend senior citizen dances with friends and relatives. Her passing will leave a void in family history. She had a mind that remembered history back generations in Baker Lake and Clair, New Brunswick.

She leaves her son, Ricky Donald Belanger of Portland; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard and Jeanne Banville of Rockville, Conn., and Beurmond and Hermence Banville of St. Agatha; a granddaughter, Crystal Lee Prentice Belanger of Florida; her special niece, Brenda (Monteith) Gagnon of Rock Port; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husbands, Roland Belanger of Baker Brook, New Brunswick, and Leonide Dionne of St. Francois, New Brunswick; and her siblings, Benoit Joseph (Gil) Banville of Massachusetts, Raymond and Geraldine of Baker Lake, New Brunswick, and Gilberte of Caribou and Wallagrass.

Friends may call 9 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Daigle Funeral Home until time of service. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Spring interment will be held in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fort Kent Senior Citizens Club, P.O. Box 403, Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes are available at the Funeral Home.
