Wisdom names scholar-athletes

ST. AGATHA, Maine — Seniors Kimberly Blanchette and Nathan Chamberland have been selected as Wisdom’s Aroostook League Scholar-Athletes for 2017.  Selections are made annually based on students who have demonstrated success in the classroom and in athletics.

Blanchette, of Frenchville, is the daughter of Mr. Ivan Blanchette and Ms. Diana Blanchette. She has played soccer, basketball and softball during her four years at Wisdom, as well as been a member of the prom committee, the school’s yearbook staff and the volleyball team.

She has been a consistent honor roll student during her time at Wisdom, and is hoping to attend either Eastern Maine Community College or the University of Maine at Fort Kent following graduation in June.

Chamberland, of St. Agatha, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Chamberland. He has competed in soccer, Alpine skiing and baseball during his time at Wisdom.He has also been a member of the National Honor Society, the Student Leadership Team and the Athletic Club.  

He is the senior class president, and also serves as one of the two student representatives to the SAD 33 Board of Directors. He will attend Maine Maritime Academy in the fall.

Both Blanchette and Chamberland were honored at the annual Aroostook League Scholar-Athlete banquet Monday, March 13, at Caribou High School.
