Massachusetts man crashes snowmobile in Frenchville
FRENCHVILLE, Maine — A Massachusetts man injured while snowmobiling in Frenchville last night was transported to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor where he remains as of Tuesday afternoon.
“Game wardens responded at 9:35 p.m. last evening to a report of a lost and injured snowmobiler,” according to a press release from the Maine Warden Service.
Todd Malesky, 52, of Millbury, Massachusetts became separated from his party last evening and crashed his 2006 Yamaha snowmobile, according to the press release.
Malesky was able to drive himself on his snowmobile to a residence at 451 Frenchville Road following the accident.
The snowmobile, although operable, sustained serious damage, according to Corporal John MacDonald of the Maine Warden Service.
Ambulance Services Inc. transported Malesky to Northern Maine Medical Center in Fort Kent. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, Malesky was later transferred to Eastern Maine Medical Center via the emergency air service, LifeFlight.
Game wardens have located the scene of the accident and plan to interview members of Malesky’s snowmobiling party.
The incident remains under investigation.
