Rebuilding Frenchville storage space
FRENCHVILLE, Maine — Frenchville Town Manager Ryan E. Pelletier said Thursday, March 9, he expects to go to bid in April, with a projected May construction start, to replace this municipal storage shed that collapsed between Thursday and Friday, Feb. 23 and 24, due to heavy, wet snow. The new building will be relocated approximately 10 to 15 feet to the east, Pelletier said, to allow adequate room for snow removal. The existing foundation is failing in several places and needs to be demolished, according to Pelletier. The new wood and metal building will be erected on a new concrete foundation and the floor will be asphalt. The town’s insurance coverage is covering all of the replacement cost to construct the new building.
