Roger Gagnon (1935—2017)

 FORT KENT, Maine — Roger Gagnon, 81, died peacefully Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Caribou health care facility. He was born in Frenchville July 11, 1935 the son of Leon Sr. and Marie Marthe (Marquis) Gagnon.

Roger Worked on the family farm with his father before joining the US Army and serving during the Korean Conflict in 1954, upon his discharge in 1957 he worked at Fraser paper for several years before going on his own, as a painter and wallpaper hanger, taking great pride in his work for over 50 years. Roger was a member of the  Fort Kent American Legion Martin-Klien Post #180.

Roger is survived by his beloved wife Betty (Laferriere) Gagnon of Fort Kent. Three children; Carol and husband, Chris Kelsey, Elaine and husband, Pete Atkins, and  Danny Gagnon all living in the Booth Bay area. Five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. His sister, Judy and husband, Clayton Bard of Madawaska and Summerfield, FL. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his brother Leon Jr. and two sisters, Norma and Claire.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated with Full Military Honors, at 10 a.m. on Monday, February 27, 2017 at the St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent.

Final resting place will follow in the Caribou VA Cemetery.
