MADAWASKA, Maine — When “Big Rick” Nadeau learned that residents at La Maison Acadienne retirement home in Madawaska would be celebrating Valentine’s Day with a dozen pizzas from his business, Big Rick’s Burgers and Wings, the entrepreneur delivered in more ways than one.

Nadeau threw in two of the pizzas for free, and hand delivered them to the residents, along with 40 carnations, one for each of the women living at the home.

“I wondered what could I do to make the day extra special. I decided that buying flowers for this group would be awesome. Some are widows, others don’t have local family, and I thought if I could make one person’s day better I would,” Nadeau said.

The women received the flowers with smiles and some offered up hugs which Nadeau said he gladly accepted.
