Lady Warriors’s tournament bid falls short

HARRINGTON, Maine — The 9th-place Fort Kent Warriors fell to the Narraguagus Lady Knights, 60-41, Tuesday, Feb. 14. Playing on their home court in Harrington, the 8th-ranked Lady Knights advance to play top-ranked Stearns High School, Feb. 21 in Bangor.

Fort kent found itself down 23-7 after one quarter, but came back to make it a 31-22 game at the half. The Lady Knights offense, however, was too tough to stop in the second half.

Cassidy Lovley scored 19 points for the Warriors, including five three-pointers. Libby Lapoint and Desirae Hafford each had five points in the game.Madison Leighton had a game-high 23 points to go with 11 steals for Narraguagus. Her teammate, Lanie Perry tossed in 11 points.

The Fort Kent girls’ squad finshes the season with a 11-8 record, and Narraguagus improves to 14-5.
