FORT KENT, Maine — Sunday’s mostly sunny skies and less than frigid temperatures brought skiers to the slopes and ice skaters to the rinks.
At Fort Kent’s Jalbert Park community ice skating, young people turned out for friendly games of tag and socializing on the ice.
Below, Taylor Michaud, 10, of Fort Kent gets in some skating practice, Sunday, Jan. 29 at her town’s community ice skating rink at Jalbert Park. Skating for three years now, Michaud has moved from using a practice chair to skating on her own. Michaud was one of several young people at the public rink Sunday afternoon who were taking advantage of the mild temperatures. (Fiddlehead Focus/SJVT photo/Don Eno)
