The Week Ahead – St. John Valley weather for Dec. 5 – 11, 2016

Monday, December 5, 2016 – Sunday, December 11, 2016

ST. JOHN VALLEY — High pressure brings partly cloudy skies and cold temperatures to the region Monday. A weak trough associated with an air-mass boundary will produce increasing clouds and a chance for some light snow later Monday afternoon and evening with a dusting to half-inch of snow possible for the Valley.

High pressure builds in Tuesday though sufficient moisture aloft will keep mostly cloudy conditions across the region. As high pressure shifts east, an occluded front approaches the region with another chance for light snow across the Valley. Mostly cloudy skies persist Thursday with a chance for snow showers throughout the day. Models indicate a low moving up the East Coast, but too far out to sea to heavily impact the region’s weather though a chance for steadier snow is possible overnight Thursday into Friday morning. High pressure moves in for the weekend with mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies Saturday and partly sunny/partly cloudy for Sunday and very cold conditions for the period.
