The Week Ahead: St. John Valley weather for Nov. 21 – 27, 2016

Monday, November 21 – Sunday, November 27, 2016

ST. JOHN VALLEY – A large upper-level low will move across the St. John Valley Monday into Tuesday, then into the Maritimes Wednesday with high pressure building in behind. Mostly cloudy to overcast conditions with rain showers transitioning to snow showers are expected as colder air moves into the Valley. High pressure brings partial clearing Thanksgiving Day into Friday. Clouds increase later Friday as a low pressure moves into the Gulf of Maine region trailed by an upper-level trough that is expected to produce some snow and snow showers for the region Saturday and Sunday.

Low: low 30s
Cloudy with rain transitioning to snow showers with a 50 percent chance for precipitation. Trace to an inch of snow possible. Southeast wind 10-15 mph becomes easterly in the evening 0-5 mph. Around one-quarter inch of precipitation total possible by Tuesday morning.

Tuesday, November 22

High: upper 30s
Low: low 30s
Cloudy with a 70 percent chance or snow showers in the morning and evening mixing with rain showers during the day. An inch or two of snow accumulation possible with between one-tenth and one-quarter inch of precipitation total by evening. Overnight a 40 percent chance for snow showers with less than one-tenth inch total precipitation. Northwest wind 10-15 mph.

Wednesday, November 23

High: upper 30s
Low: mid-20s
Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance for precipitation. Partly clear overnight with northwest wind 10-15 mph.

Thursday, November 24 / Thanksgiving Day

High: mid-30s
Low: mid-20s
Partly sunny with light northwest wind that becomes northerly. Becoming mostly cloudy overnight with light east winds.

Friday, November 25

High: mid-30s
Low: upper 20s

Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance for snow increasing to a 40 percent chance overnight. Light east wind becomes southeasterly.

Saturday, November 26

High: mid-30s
Low: mid-20s
Cloudy with a 40 percent chance for snow with 1-3 inches of accumulation possible. Light southeast wind becomes easterly.

Sunday, November 27

High: low 30s
Low: low-to-mid-20s
Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance for snow showers with 1-3 inches of accumulation possible. Light northeast wind becomes northerly and breezy.
